Through this program, Open Jar Studios has offered studios to dance artists at a subsidized rental rate of $10/hr.

In a city where artists are in critical need of affordable space for the creation and development of artistic work, this program fosters a more inclusive and equitable dance field, with a focus on accessibility, geography, and the demographics of the artists served.

The artists or company awarded this subsidy must meet certain eligibility requirements, including identifying as working within the discipline of dance or movement-based practices.  Artists will be asked to provide demographic information as part of the application process.  This information is confidential and is necessary to collect data for the grant and ensure the subsidized rates are going to the intended communities.

Due to the popularity of the program, we have reached the limit of our granted hours for 2025 and must suspend applications.  We will begin accepting applications for hours in 2026 in December.
