SERVICE ANIMALS/ANIMAL ACTORS

ANIMAL ACTORS: Open Jar Studios recognizes that certain productions may need to use live animal actors during the rehearsal process. In these instances, the trained handler will act as the proxy for the animal's welfare while on premises. The animal actor must be a contracted actor in the production.  Pets, emotional support animals and therapy dogs are not included in this designation. These animals must register here.

SERVICE ANIMALS: Open Jar Studios complies with ADA regulations, which allows ADA accredited service dogs trained to provide assistance to individuals with disabilities into the facility.  A service animal means “any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability”. Under Title III of the ADA, Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are NOT considered service animals. If it's not readily apparent that an animal is trained to do work or perform tasks, the staff will need to verify following these guidelines.

Service animals are not required to register, but it is recommended you share your emergency contact HERE so the Open Jar Staff may assist you in case of an emergency.

OTHER SUPPORT ANIMALS: Under Title III of the ADA, Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are NOT considered service animals but may be permitted at the studios by registering while the animal is on the premises.
