QUALIFIED PRODUCTION FACILITY

Open Jar Studios, one of Times Square’s premier rehearsal and performance venues, has officially been designated as a Qualified Film Production Facility by the New York State Governor’s Office of Motion Picture & Television Development. 

This designation allows filmmakers and television producers to apply for the state’s tax incentive program when filming at Open Jar Studios, making it an even more attractive option for productions of all sizes. 

The New York State Film Production Tax Credit Program was established to support and grow the film production industry within the state, contributing to New York’s economy and enhancing its reputation as a top filming destination. Productions that meet the program's requirements may be eligible to receive a 30% tax credit on qualified production expenses. 

In addition to the base tax credit, productions with a minimum budget of $500,000 can also qualify for an extra 10% tax credit on qualified labor expenses, further enhancing the financial benefits of filming at Open Jar Studios.
